The Al-Shabaab militants fired mortars at the Halane camp, which is home to foreign embassies and humanitarian agencies.
30 second video, recorded by the AMISOM army who were in the area of shelling mortars shows how the mortars destroyed the camp.
One of the soldiers in that recording quoted as saying “we are not save”
UN Special Representative to Somalia James Swan condemned the attack. He pointed out that such actions will not stop humanitarian activities in the country.
Also The federal government of Somalia has condemned the attack and underlined that it will investigate the whereabouts of the mortars who fell into the Halane Area.
The mortars thrown in this camp comes while next few days are expecting to held Halane the dialogue between the federal government, the heads of regional administrations and Banadir region which will be discussed issues on elections.
